Life can be hectic. Between work, social commitments, family obligations, etc. it’s hard to keep up to date with the latest news and current events. I have found that podcasts are a great resource for entertainment and learning, and they are an excellent way to take in information on the go.
Most days, I like to listen to a podcast on my morning commute or while making dinner – times when my hands are busy but my mind is free to tune in. My favorite podcasts are the ones that focus on how people think and work – getting experts’ opinions on their fields of study, sparking new ideas, inspiring story telling, and digging into to the psychology of decision making.
I have found that podcasts are also a great catalyst for brainstorming as a marketer. Immersing myself in these different kinds of topics provides insights into what makes people tick. What influences them to make a purchase? What’s the psychology behind decision-making? How can we better spark innovation? These kinds of insights can later be used to more effectively reach our audiences through marketing.
